“That’s a nice chess set. Fancy a game?” asked Zeke, picking up a rook. “I don’t play,” answered Steve. “I don’t like pure strategy games.” “You know, if you tried to learn to play chess it would help you with dealing with people. It’s like in—“ “You’re not going to do the whole chess-is-like-life thing are you? Because let me tell you, if you want to truly capture life, Backgammon is your game. There’s no element of chance in chess, no unpredictability. It’s too unrealistic. Too clinical.” Zeke set down the piece. “Backgammon, then?” Steve shrugged. “Don’t have a set.”
