JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on October 1, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

"Wow...I didn't expect that at all," the old man muttered in awe. "What is it Grandpa?" his granddaughter asked curiously. "My dear, that is what is known as a UFO," he explained quietly. "U...F...O?" she asked. Just then the massive vessel let out a popping noise as several long wires shot out of it anchoring it to the earth below. Wordlessly, the old man picked up the tot and ran as fast as he could. He has no reason to believe they would harm either of them, but he wasn't about to stick around and find out.
