It’s the same building every time. I’ll be wandering through dreams, chasing a rabbit or part of a boisterous parade, and then the scene shifts, the mist clear, and there it stands. I know I need to go inside. I try to go in, but as I take another step towards it the barn shimmers and fades and I’m suddenly awake. But I get a step closer each time, and this time, I actually managed to touch the door, feel it begin to give way with a push. Next time. Next time I’ll go inside, and then I’ll know why.
