It’s a lonely life, here at the edge of the world. And it’s not exciting. Not at all. I get the feeling that people think it’s adventurous, but we are just garrisoned here at mist’s edge. And nothing has gone into or come out if that wall of mist for seven thousand years. I spend most of my days just hanging about in the stables, truth be told. I do my turn in the watch towers, same as anyone else, but I promise you, there is nothing to see. Easiest job I ever had, and plenty of time for reading.
