“This’s impossible,” groaned Sim. He leaned over the railing and tried to see the bottom. “We can’t get back through the door, and with no stairs, the only option is to climb down and try not to fall to our deaths.” Noc looked down the pit, then tilted her head. “It’s not a drop, it’s a hallway,” she said. She stretched out on the landing with her feet to the wall and gestured for him to join her. Once he was in place everything shifted. “See.” They walked down the brick-floored hall past the railings-gone-pillars and headed toward the end.
