They started with animals that weren’t so exotic, but still outside the norm - iguanas, whitetail deer, a chinchilla named Gary. Friends would come over and marvel at their odd pet choices, and they would bask in the praise. Then came the camels. That was when wonder became annoyance, as guests left the outdoor dinner parties with camel spit in their hair and camel dung on their shoes. Suddenly it was less a curiosity and more a hazard. So, they cordoned them off at the bottom of the garden, put up signs, and slowly got people the return to their cookouts.
