JKWriter's 100-word story for October 14, 2025

JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on October 14, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

"IIIIIII'MMMMM slipping!!!" Willy yelped as his image slid down the stairs in the rain. Everyone in Cartoon Village seemed to be slipping down stairs and hills...off of park benches. The minute the rain touched their ink...they found themselves slithering this way and that. While they had heard about real precipitation, they hadn't actually seen it before. Cartoon Village had lived under a protective enchanted umbrella until this day. At first they were merely surprised, but as the moisture continued to hit the ground, the real terror began. The characters began melting away into amorphous inky spots and blots.
