JKWriter's 100-word story for October 15, 2025
JKWriter wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on October 15, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.
The girl sat uncomfortably in the pew as the preacher was talking, but every time he uttered a "damnation" or "fire and brimstone" a bright pink sign would intermittently flicker "Don't just exist." It was just so annoying. Perhaps it was her age, but for someone else, the sign...might have felt like "a" sign. Church services were a chore her step-father imposed on the family...it was a bothersome Sunday interruption that took up too much of her day. There were too many people and the preacher was too angry about everything. He yelled throughout his entire fiery sermon.
