joeislove's 100-word story for October 22, 2025

We still run the ski lifts in Summer. Only for a little while, but we do it every day. One full circuit. And we have someone at the top and bottom looking in every one as it passes. We used to let them sit until time to do the big inspection at the beginning of the season. But now we do it every day. We had to start doing it after the 2004 inspection. I was the one who found them. Their desiccated bodies slumped against the window of the lift. Starved. So now we check for stragglers. Every day.
