It wasn't like time stood still...time was standing still in this house. The single occupant didn't leave and it was rare that anyone came to see her. Everything in this place was just as he left it. The years kept passing by...the widow was trapped alone in a stasis of her own making. The death of her ailing and controlling husband had left her feeling guilty that she was relieved he was gone. She was too scared to move forward and no way to go back. Fifty years was a long time for anyone; an eternity to some.
