TinySparrow wrote the following micro-story on Hectalex on October 30, 2025. Each story on Hectalex is inspired by a daily visual prompt and must be exactly 100 words.

In the recurring dream, he was a lighthouse keeper. The feeling of isolation and suffocating silence was ever present. Except, this time, the dream was full of sound – a raging storm lashed the lighthouse, wind rattled flaking window frames, and a booming ship's horn shook the building and his conscience. Why was this one different? What clue did it hold about his life? He fought it and opened his eyes. He sat at a table, his head upon his hands. Looking up, a circular room surrounded him. There was that ship's thunderous horn again. Desperate and almost upon him now.
